Pink Shirt Day! February 24th

Support healthy self-esteem of kids by putting a stop to bullying. Wearing a pink shirt on February 24th helps unite us all as members of our respective communities, and the global community as a whole.

Pink Shirt day started in 2007 by David Shepherd and Travis Price, two teens who witnessed a fellow teenager be bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The two boys set off on a journey to purchase as many pink tank tops as possible and recruited their fellow schoolmates to wear the shirts in solidarity against the bullying that the other young boy had received.

This started in Canada, but has since expanded as a global movement—just an act of kindness—around the world where all who can and want to participate wear a pink shirt to signify that they will not stand for bullies.

This movement is an opportunity to raise money and awareness for events and programs in your area that are aimed at helping kids improve their self esteem! What programs are in your area that you find the most important for this?

Wearing pink in solidarity,

Jocelyn
